The Monthly Away Game will be held at the Mae Moh Golf Course on Thursday 13 September 2012. It will be a slightly later tee-off time of 09:30 due to the distance required to be travelled by all and to allow for those who manage to get themselves lost. The Event will be one of our most popular quarterly held Scrambles. The system used will be the Ambrose System, that is, the total handicaps of the four team members divided by 8. It is a bit of a drive so you may wish to organise car/petrol sharing as it is a wonderful course and well worth the effort. Members select their own team and once confirmed by all in your team advise club captains and pay team entry fee.
Team Entry Fee: 400 baht
Green Fee: 100 baht
Caddy Fee: 200 baht
Cart Fee: 600 baht (can share 300 each)
Nearest Pin Prize on all Par Threes (must be on the green)

Gymkhana - Thurs 9 August 2012
With Overcast skies and light showers falling 18 keen golfers turned out at Gymkhana to find that we had the clubhouse & golf course all to ourselves. By tee-off time it was just the occasional spot and hardly enough to justify an umbrella. All 6 groups tee'd off on time with the first group finishing the 18 hole round in 3 hours. The course although wet after the overnight rain was in fine shape with recently mowed fairways and greens in excellent shape and holding. The only complaint heard was that a few of the bunkers could do with some more sand.
It was expected that as all were playing off Chiangmai Golfers handicaps on a short Gymkhana course that some high scores would be the order of the day but with wet conditions on a tight course with plenty of trees this was for the most part not to be and the greater majority either played to handicap or there about. The one notable exception was the days winner Noi Taylor with 40 points and whose skill was witnessed on the third hole when she managed to bounce a ball safely on the cement pathway and across the water, now that is accuracy. Runners-up came in the form of a three way tie, Pung Bacchi, Len Sparrow and Garry Walker each with 36 points. Apart from Denis Dixon who claimed a Net hole in one there were no other highlights to the round. Forgetting the golf for a moment it was a lovely walk in the park with enjoyable company and followed by a relaxing lunch and liquid refreshments

Gymkhana - 9 Aug 2012
Unfortunately, with what is considered a small turnout for our Monthly Away Game it was decided unfair to expect the Gymkhana club to close the course for our group and also insufficient numbers to have a shotgun start. So we will all tee-off from the first tee in the groupings now posted beginning at 08:30. Please be at the golf course by 0800 and checked in no later than 0815 having paid your 100baht competition entry fee. Dependant on the situation at the golf course it may be possible for groups 5 & 6 to go off the 7th tee if it is clear and if they desire to do so.
The event is a Stableford event using Chiangmai Golfers Handicaps. Any guests or members without current handicaps will be marked using the 36 system of handicapping. Score Cards are to be exchanged within your group, must be legible and signed by player and marker as correct and handed to the committee immediately at the completion of the round.
At this point in time their are no exceptions to the rules of golf apart from where appropriate 'drop zones' may be used otherwise play the ball as it lies or in accordance with the rules of golf. Should this change it will be announced just prior to Tee-Off.
